GIG-ARTS is entering a new phase

Over the past ten editions, GIG-ARTS has grown from an annual academic conference into an international community bringing together scholars and practitioners working on Internet governance, digital policy and the transformation of digital society.

Today, we are pleased to announce three important developments.

First, GIG-ARTS is adopting a new governance framework designed to strengthen the continuity, openness and international reach of the community, with a renewed Steering Committee and clearer responsibilities for scientific coordination, institutional relations, communication, impact, partnerships and future activities.

Second, we are launching our new website, conceived not simply as the home of the GIG-ARTS Conference Series, but as the common platform for the growing range of activities developed by the community.

And third, the SWING School on Internet Governance is joining the GIG-ARTS ecosystem. Building on the experience developed through its previous editions, the School will become a permanent educational pillar of the community, alongside the GIG-ARTS Conference Series.

This means that GIG-ARTS will now develop around two closely connected spaces:

• the GIG-ARTS Conference Series, dedicated to advancing research and scholarly debate on Internet and digital governance;

• the GIG-ARTS School on Digital Governance, dedicated to advanced training, interdisciplinary exchange and engagement among academia, public authorities, civil society, business and practitioners.

And the next appointments are already on the calendar:

A common community. A broader programme of activities. And a renewed commitment to creating international spaces where the governance of digital transformation can be studied, discussed and shaped collectively.
