What is the GIG-ARTS School?
The GIG-ARTS School on Digital Governance is an intensive educational programme on Internet governance and digital technologies.
It brings together different perspectives from academia, industry and policymaking to examine how the Internet is developed, managed, regulated and transformed.
Through lectures, seminars, roundtables and case discussions, participants explore both the technical foundations of the Internet and the political, legal and social questions surrounding its governance.
A cross-disciplinary programme
The programme covers a broad range of issues at the heart of contemporary Digital governance. Participants will explore the governance of Internet protocols and standards, telecommunications systems, digital platforms, artificial intelligence, data and digital applications. Alongside these technological and infrastructural dimensions, the School examines the political, legal and institutional questions that arise from their development and use.

Learning and exchange
Lectures and seminars are led by internationally recognised scholars with expertise in the relationship between society, technology and the Internet, together with experts from partner organisations. The School provides an opportunity not only to learn from leading researchers and practitioners, but also to exchange ideas with participants from different academic, professional and geographical backgrounds.
