Practical Information

GIG-ARTS 2025 will be held at the Fisciano Campus of the University of Salerno, which is about 10 km from the city center. The conference sessions will take place in the Aula delle Lauree Gabriele de Rosa, located in Building D2. For detailed directions and campus navigation, please refer to the interactive map. A campus map highlighting key points of interest is provided below.

For your convenience, we have arranged transportation between Salerno’s city center and the University of Salerno (UNISA). Please check the important information document we have sent you to know more about it.

Accommodation is not included in the registration fee and must be arranged separately.

There are numerous hotels in Salerno and the whole area close to the university. The most convenient is to stay in Salerno.

Several bus lines connect Salerno city to the University Campus in about 35 min (more information below).

From Naples to the University of Salerno – By bus

Other Useful Transportation Information: Salerno is located about 60 km from Naples. The closest major airport is Naples Capodichino Airport; however, Salerno has its own new airport, Salerno Costa d’Amalfi Airport, which offers both domestic and international routes. In addition to air travel, you can also reach Salerno by land, either by car, bus, or train.

From Napoli Airport to Napoli City Center By bus

The Alibus takes you to the Naples Central Train Station. If you want to continue your journey from the center of Naples to Salerno, you can take a train or a bus.

Taxi services in Salerno are limited, and ride-sharing platforms like Uber are not available. While taxis are generally accessible at the train station, they can be quite expensive. If you need to arrange a taxi, you can contact Taxi Radio Salerno at 089 757575.

For local travel within the city, the Busitalia bus service offers a more affordable option, with tickets (€1.40) available at tobacco shops (Sali e Tabacchi) throughout Salerno. Note, however, that buses usually operate until 22:00.

If you’re planning to visit the Amalfi Coast after SWING, the charming villages along the coast can be reached using buses operated by the SITA company. Alternatively, several car rental companies are available upon request.
